Works like a champ August 29, 2010 HUM2 (Carlsbad, CA USA) We have had this unit for almost one year. We have it set for 55 degrees, and it keeps that temperature nailed. We have it set on a kitchen counter, adjacent to our ovens, but with the specified clearances for air flow at the sides and back. No complaints at all. We are considering purchasing a second one to give us more storage for red wines.
Works very well (but dimensions are wrong in description) June 1, 2010 Kilidonia de Acero (New York, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As other reviewers have mentioned, the listed dimensions are way off. Our 8-bottle cooler is 19.5 inches deep (meaning from front to back), 16 inches wide, and 10 inches high. The picture of the 8-bottle cooler is misleading because it doesn't really show how deep the unit is, and because of that, it won't fit many kitchen counters, including ours. We keep it on a small table in a nook that luckily was just the right size, otherwise we'd have no place for it. So measure your counter before you buy. Other than that, it has worked perfectly for us for about 6 weeks now and we really like it. We've been able to adjust temperature (we keep between 53 and 60 depending on contents) and it responds well. It's very quiet, almost completely silent, and no problems getting standard wine bottles to fit. I was concerned when we first turned it on because it did not seem to cool, but it just took a while for it to adjust and set itself. Since then we've had no problems. Important: Read the simple & brief instruction manual before you turn it on.
another dead wine cooler September 10, 2009 Jim Duke It worked well for a while.
Sure it took a couple days to truly cool stuff, but then it totally died days after the warranty.
Zero. Nothing. Nada.
I'm very sad it was a wedding present with best intentions, and we enjoyed it immensely.
Now this "thing" is in a Florida landfill.
Consider a real refrigerator if you really care about wine temperature.
Refridgerators cost more to operate, but failure is rare, even at the low-end. Add up your costs and you will conclude as I have that this technology is unreliable. Search the internet and you will discover many like me.
Say no.
So sad...
width & depth dimensions are reversed July 15, 2009 catlady (Corpus Christi, TX) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had to return it because it was very deep and very skinny, just the opposite of how the specifications list its dimensions. It would not fit in the space where I'd intended to put it.
DON'T BOTHER July 4, 2007 Media Enterprises, Inc. (New Mexico) 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
This is a piece of junk. It can barely keep wine cool in the winter with the heat off. The fan runs all the time no matter what. Furthermore, when the room temperature is a tad bit above 70 degrees, the light starts flashing along with a constant beeping. The only way to stop this, is to unplug it.
The manufacturer offers no suggestion other than saying it's probably the pc. In my mind "pc" is personal computer, not microprocessor which is probably what is controlling the light flashing and beeping. The manufacturer offers no method of getting a unit which is properly working, even though they shipped the original flashing and beeping unit. They consider it yours because you, well, opened their box. This is the kind of treatment that gives a bad name to internet shopping.
