| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description MIU France battery powered black salt grinder, item # 10001. You will be surprising pleased with the ease of this battery powered salt grinder. Great for those with arthritis and senior citizens. Invert the grinder, twist the middle section to the right to loosen and add the course sea salt into the clear cylinder. Twist the cylinder to the left to refasten the cylinder. Rotate the base to the "ON" position and re-invert the grinder and the salt automatically dispenses itself. To add batteries, remove the bottom cap and slide out the battery casing to add batteries. Do not put in the dishwasher. Wipe sides clean with a damp cloth. Requires 4-AAA Alkaline batteries, not included. Measures: 2.25" Round by 7" High. Not for use with table salt.

| Customer Reviews: Gravity switch was stuck. June 17, 2010 Jose Ramirez (Orlando, FL) I bought the MIU salt and pepper mills after reading the positive reviews of the pepper mill. The pepper mill worked flawlessly, but the salt mill came with a defect in the switch which required you to tap it against something to engage the motor. I returned it for an exchange and will update when I get the new one.
Other than the faulty switch, the mill works well. Just turn it upside down and voila. It is not super loud and dispenses salt fairly quickly. The difference between this and the pepper mill is that this one has a ceramic grinding mechanism, where the pepper mill has a carbon (not stainless) steel mechanism. The clear plastic portion seems durable, but the battery cover (which also serves as the main on/off switch) and the black plastic portions feel cheap and delicate. The thumbscrew to adjust fineness feels like it could come loose easily.
Overall not bad, but the cheap feel and the faulty switch lead me to rate it three stars.

Amazing-so easy to use you might be tempted to break it because ALL you have to do is point at food!
