3 out of 5 stars OK, not great.   September 8, 2010
Craig Aulford (NJ)
I received this in the mail yesterday, & used it this morning. I think the designer was in a hurry, & forgot to include a timer, then realizing it slapped on a battery operated one, so as not to have to do a whole redesign & make his deadline. Otherwise, a battery operated timer was just a stupid idea. Although the waffles that I made tasted very good, they came out unevenly cooked. One half came out golden brown, the other almost burnt. The instructions say when the steam stops, the waffle is done. This is not a true statement. When I waited for the steam to stop, the entire waffle was totally burnt! After the second waffle, I was able to get the half golden, half dark brown waffle. Because of the price, I would probably buy this product again with lower expectations.

1 out of 5 stars Not impressed   September 5, 2010

Bought this waffle maker because of all the great reviews it got. But I was really disappointed. Every waffle we made was either burnt or undercooked no matter what we tried. This is a cheaply made machine. I'm returning it.

2 out of 5 stars Disappointing   September 5, 2010

I had a Waring Pro waffle maker for a few years but had used it only occasionally. Needless to say I was very disappointed when I noticed the non-stick finish beginning to peel. So with all the good reviews on this model I figured for half the money, I'd buy this one. I am so sorry I did. There is just no comparison between the two. This Presto model doesn't cook the waffles evenly, the steam was still escaping on one even though I thought it had been cooking long enough. Finally after 4 minutes or so, I went ahead and opened the waffle maker ... the waffle was burned (and steam was still escaping). The waffles are thicker than those made in the Waring Pro, but the texture is just not as good. I realize there is a big difference in money between the two models, but I'm donating this one to Goodwill and will buy another Waring Pro.

5 out of 5 stars Presto 3510 FlipSide Belgian Waffle Maker = Instant Popularity   September 2, 2010

I made my first batch of waffles in this genius little machine today; it makes better waffles than any other I've tried and the procedure is simpler, too. The very reasonable price (at amazon; it seems to be more expensive elsewhere) and the fact that it stores upright make it a worthwhile appliance in my small kitchen. I love it.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty Cool   August 30, 2010
Cool
I ordered this because I love the waffles made in a similar iron at hotels. I've only used it a few times, but so far, so good. I'm still trying to get the exact timing down, as I am making "heart healthy" waffles (if there is such a thing) and the ingredients may change the regular suggested timing. But, all told, I'm liking it!
