When the first unit arrived I unwrapped it and found the top door hinge had been mashed in so the door would not stay closed. The door just hung there on the bottom hinge. I called Haier at the toll free number. The lady there said to cut off the electrical plug and 8" of cord, tare the serial number off the back and mail these two items along with a copy of my sales receipt from Amazon to Haier America in Fords, NJ. I did this and waited. A replacement arrived about 3 weeks later. I opened it today after arriving home from a vacation and guess what, the top hinge of the door is bent in so it will not hold the door closed. There was obvious damage to the top of the packing box in which it came at the point of this hinge. Now I have two useless refrigerators taking up room. I don't know what to do. I wish I had bought this item in a local store so I could have examined it before taking it home and I suggest who ever reads this does just that. It is like a crap shoot buying one through Amazon.

This was the worst order I have EVER placed from amazon. I thought I'd take the risk, despite all the negative feedback. It was a mistake. The thing came in pieces -- literally. Packing so flimsy it completely got busted up by FedEx in the delivery process. I have finally come to the conclusion that for all heavy items or appliances, you must purchase locally. If Amazon wants to get in this business for good, it is going to need to reengineer the packing process on heavy items. Don't buy, run to your nearest store instead.

This mini-fridge is great! I had NO issues with dents, dings or scratches during shipping. I plugged it in immediately and everything works fine.

Everybody was right. The refrigerator works very well but you have to be lucky.
My refrigerator came with the top ripped wide open and no insulation at all to protect the product.
There were a couple of minor scratches and dents but where I put it you can not see the damage.
As I said you have to be lucky. The refrig. works very well IF IT COMES TO YOU IN ONE PIECE AND WORKABLE!!!!

I ordered two of these mini-refrigerators, one for myself and a co-worker. One arrived in perfect condition, the other had shipping damage on the top corner. I returned the damaged item and Amazon sent a replacement. The replacement had minor cosmetic dings on the right side and I decided to keep it. Bottom line, the packaging on these items is not acceptable to guarantee a damage-free refrigerator but the price is right. The return process with Amazon was flawless. UPS came to my door to pickup the damaged item and also brought the replacement.
