We ordered this freezer to have handy some items that we access all the time -- like frozen dinners. Unfortunately, when the box arrived, we did not unbox it because it looked perfectly fine. About a month later, when we installed it, we realized a hinge was broken and the unit was otherwise damaged around the plastic edge in the front. Too late to send back to Amazon. It took some doing to even contact the Curtis International (the maker of this Igloo freezer). In my first call to them I was told "Call back in two days." What?? To date, no replacement hinge has arrived. I'm very disappointed. You get what you pay for -- lesson learned. Don't buy from this company.

I wanted a smaller freezer because of limited space in my home. But the inside of this freezer is way too small!! It isn't just one big cube on the inside with lots of space. It has a has a step like shelf on the inside (perhaps the motor is underneath it) that takes up way too much room. So you lose square footage on the inside. I should have gotten a 5 cubic foot freezer. The freezer works fine, just not enough interior space because of the inside step.
