Great for baby purees! March 9, 2010 Elissa (Chicago, IL USA) It's perfect for making my baby's purees and fruit smoothies. In less than 5 minutes I'm done, cleaning and all.
Bachelor with a food processor? March 9, 2010 Joegrind (Atlanta, GA) WOW...this is something that I never thought I would buy/ need until married. I got this just before the Super Bowl to make jambalaya. The cookbook called for it, I wanted to impress the folks (and potential future wife) so 'studied' the preparation of the meal, and of course wanted to honor the "Who Dat" Saints.
Using it was a breeze! Fast, clean, efficient and QUIET. Let me say it again....you wouldn't believe how powerful this baby is based on the 'humming' coming from it.
Clean-up is as easy as doing a quick rinse and sticking it on the top rack of the dishwasher.
The finish is attractive, feels very sturdy...and for all you bachelor's out there....it impresses the ladies if you leave it on the counter.
The price is reasonable for something so powerful....and thought that this something I'd only be using once every 6 months or so...trust me, it makes you want to explore the cookbook even more.
One word of caution: When the box arrives, be sure to check the packaging carefully....with my excitement in opening the box, I must have thrown out the wooden spatula that it comes with. (probably stuck in the styrofoam).
Great small food processor - Love it.. March 8, 2010 J. Dacquisto (Madison, WI) This is a great little food processor. I always wanted something in between the very small ones and the large ones, and this is it. I love this small unit. It works great and it's a GREAT deal for the $. I didn't want a large, bulky unit for the two of us and this unit is just right for 1 or 2 unit portions. You won't find a better unit at a better price if you are looking for a compact processor. I love the 2 action (grind or chop) setting which most others don't have. Amazon was the best deal by far from any store or other online retailers (I checked a bunch).
A+++ all the way with this unit, you won't be disappointed with the Crusinart.
Great! March 5, 2010 Brenda K. Haberle I love this food processor. I did not think it would hold as much as it does, but it certainly takes care of all the things that I have put into it so far. It is very powerful, easy to take apart, goes into the dishwasher and cleans up well. This was a great purchase!
Smaller than you would think! March 4, 2010 Janique (Wyoming) I purchased this little guy for making homeade salsa, hummus, pico de gallo, dressings.....
I was looking for something that would be small and compact, and this does fit the bill, but i think it may be too small for my needs.
Secondly, I took it from the box, washed it up and proceeded to make hummus, and while a recipe is provided for this with the product, I dont think it was fond of making it. It started to smell hot, and thats when i noticed it was smoking! I let it cool down, and proceeded to finish, and it didnt seem to heat back up. I did make the pico de gallo a few days later and it did just fine.
Im not sure if it was too new or if its not built for heavier recipes.
All in all it would be a good product for single person, wanting to make single servings, but if there is more than one person in your house I would recomend getting a larger size.
