DE-LIGHT-FUL March 9, 2010 By His Grace Alone (Pasadena, MD) Does it get any better than cooking with olive oil and hot popcorn. So much better than the microwave stuff!!!!
Stir Crazy 6-Quart Electric Popcorn Popper by West Bend March 3, 2010 S. Dorland (Tucson, AZ, US) This is our second popper. We absolutely love it. The first popper was still going strong after five years of heavy use, but I chipped one of the handles so bought another. It makes the best popcorn; easy to use; easy to clean. We will always have one around the house. Thanks West Ben!
enjoy it while it lasts March 1, 2010 mizsydney (central cali desert) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
my husband loves this particular machine and uses it several times per week if not a few times per day.
we go through a couple of these a year. they just don't hold up at ALL. we've ignored it when the bar fails and it still works fine. the real issue seems to be that the popping oil leaks into the base and kills the heating element.
the upside to replacing so frequently is that the appearance of the unit does not wear well. it starts looking icky pretty quick unless you want to spend a lot of time on careful handwashing and drying (unless you run your dishwasher a few times a day).
and it's too big to stick in a cabinet, so I'm looking at its ugly oily mug sitting on the counter all the time. so in that respect, monthly replacements are (literally) more attractive.
No more heat! Only worked twice..... March 1, 2010 A. Inkley (Washington State) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Buyer be ware! Got the corn popper as a Christmas gift.... made great popcorn twice, but now the unit won't heat..... arm turns as it should, but oil stays cold.... manufacturer said to return it, but cost to return it is $15.... hardly worth it... Not buying another one!
New design is a piece of garbage February 21, 2010 Cheryl L. Mendelson 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Had this model for years and dropped it and broke it. Bought a new one at Target. They replaced the hardware that the stirrer attaches to with a plastic threaded piece. It will not screw on properly. It broke off the first time I used it when I tried take unscrew it off to wash it.
So, they raised the price and saved .10/unit and now have a product that is a complete insult to the consumer.
I am now searching for another brand.
