I got this sharpener a few months ago. It worked very well the first day and has continued to work very well since. It beats all electric sharpeners, in that I can pull it out of a drawer, use it, and put it back quickly. The knives easily cut through tomatoes without hardly any pressure. I cut bread with no problem. Deboning is simple also. I can not say enough about this sharpener, it works too well to think about getting another more expensive one.

The knife sharpener works great, the scissor sharpener does not function in any appreciable capacity.

Hello! :) This thing is a bit freaky, because it's SO reasonably priced, yet SO fantastic! How often do you buy something that exceeds your expectations, especially something cheap? Some of my knives were quite dull, so both slots of this sharpener were very helpful. It seems that a slower, controlled motion with moderate, not-too-hard pressure is required. Some of the other reviewers have said that the coarse slot is too coarse, but I disagree. Most likely, if you buy this sharpener, you'll be delighted with it! :)

All I can say is that the product does what it is supposed to do, and well.
Picked the sharpener up at the mall kitchen store, the Amazon price is about $2 cheaper than their retail. Brought it home, popped it out of the consumer friendly packaging, read the panel of instructions and went to it. My block of knives is as sharp or sharper than they have ever been. They're just typical WallyWorld knives, nothing special, but not the cheapest either. We do have one nice stainless monster that we bought from a friend's restaurant supply store that is scary sharp (at least it used to be).
After a dozen passes across the carbide blades you could see a little pile of metal shavings, this thing was working that edge right now. Switch to the ceramic touch up slot and they were as sharp as I'd ever want a knife to be. I even used the scissor slot and was actually surprised at how well they cut today. I'd forgotten about the sharpening yesterday and was actually caught off guard at how well they snipped through a FedEx bag today.
Good purchase.

I have several sharpeners in the house but I have never been impressed with any of them. I bought this one based entirely on the name. Wusthof makes some world-class knives. So I was not surprised that the thing actually works! It even has scissor sharpening slot. In all my life, I have never even thought about sharpening a scissor. Just don't drop it. Mine fell off the counter and one of the ceramic sharpeners popped out. For the life of me, I could not figure out how to get it back together. So I bought another one.
