5 out of 5 stars Great hand blender!   July 28, 2010
A. Derrico (Lancaster, PA)
After reading all the reviews I decided to try this less well known brand and I have not been disappointed. It is extremely powerful without making much of a mess. In the small container provided I can easily make frozen smoothies with frozen or fresh fruit and ice. I have also made frozen margaritas without any difficulty. It actually chops ice better than my (cheap) blender. It makes short work of tomato sauce and pureed soups. I did read the reviews carefully however and have been careful about attaching and removing the attachments. I have had no problems after about 2 months of use. I would recommend this blender to anyone looking for a slightly less expensive product.

3 out of 5 stars Powerful but heavy   July 13, 2010

The hand blender is very powerful though my hands start hurting when I am using it at times. The reason being the weight of the blender- it is very heavy compared to a Braun one I had earlier. One also has to learn the art of aligning certain arrows so that the blade clicks into the hand piece. I guess, I am reasonably satisfied with the product, not really thrilled!

4 out of 5 stars Great tool, manual mostly in Spanish   July 10, 2010
Birgitta Frede (Woodbine, Georgia USA)
The Miallegro 9090 MiTutto immersion blender is exactly what I was looking for. It is versatile and powerful (which makes it a little heavy) and easy to clean. A better description would be of great help though, instructions for the blades - which one to be used for what purpose - are mostly in Spanish. Otherwise, there is always the internet with the Spanish-English dictionary...

1 out of 5 stars This is a piece of junk   June 23, 2010

Do not buy this product. It is a piece of junk. It is flimsy cheap plastic and metal. The blades would not fit on the blender. They send you a tool that is supposed to help get the blades on and off and bend them to fit. The tool would bend and become useless before you could get the blade on and you have to keep trying to rebend it while jamming the blade on. if you got the blade on, trying to get it off was a nightmare. You work and work, bending the tool over and over, then once the blade finally pops off it goes flying through the air every time. I'm lucky nobody was in the kitchen with me or they would have lost an eye. We tried the wisk since that was the only thing that would fit and even on low with a very big bowl, everything went all over the kitchen. This is the worst product I have ever bought.

5 out of 5 stars Updated. great machine but has a huge defect. read the last part   May 14, 2010

I read the reviews before i ordered the wand, not sure if this was a good deal or not. I am glad I took the chance. Most of the goodies in the paperwork are not in English and i think the biggest (possibly only) problem. The clamps breaking when taking off and on the accessories seems the biggest complaint. The main directions on how to take it off and on are not in English nor explained, you see a few arrows with words. I have the steal wand the rest of the parts are heavy duty plastic.

I read the problems and took the time to try to understand what could be going wrong with breaking and anything that could result in the problems I read in the reviews posted here. The clamps are plastic but i can't see how metal would make them last longer. The most important part is you must align the arrows and just push down to attach. The top arrow that points down must be in the middle of the bottom arrows pointing towards each other. It easily pushed down and clamps together when you align the arrows. Taking it apart is just a matter of twisting them apart like you would open a jar and i think with doing both of those correctly as I listed, the clamps will never snap off.

It's a very high end product for 1/2 the price or less of comparable wands. The "food processor" attachment is twice the size of the other brands and that makes it nice. Only time that would be a problem would be if you used it specifically for smaller amounts (i.e. grinding coffee beans for 1 cup of coffee) but you could easily get the smaller chopper from Cuisinart if you absolutely need that 2-3 tablespoons of food grounded or chopped.

Switching out the blades isn't hard either. The only thing i see that would make a person think they are not easily done is you are working with very sharp blades. That isn't a problem, you just understand how it slides off and on then you can do it easily without any fear of cutting yourself. The lever is awkward to use but there doesn't seem to be an easier way I can think of and it does work and take seconds to do.

This is the best one i have seen by far for the price. I just hope it lasts as long as i think it will. I think all the negative things i read were just people doing things wrong because of the lack of specific instructions but anyone with decent intelligence can figure out how to work the wand assuming this is not the very first time operating one. If it is then, if you have any simple ability to think problems through it should be simple enough to work out. You might even be able to find their web site and use a translator to understand what you can't read (i didn't look but that is possible alternate way to understand the wand)
